Colour FAQ
Based on the hair length,thickness and end goal of your service, colour appointments can take up to 2-6 hours. Please allocate the appropriate amount of time in your day for your appointment.
After filling out the colour questionnaire and attaching photos, you will be given an estimated quote. Final price of your colour service is determined at the end of the service and is based on length, thickness, products used and level of stylist.
Salon West by IDNTY has a 48 hour cancellation policy. Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled within 48 hours to the day and time of the appointment. Appointments that are canceled or rescheduled less than 48 hours before are subject to a non refundable cancellation fee of $50.
You do not need a consultation prior to a balayage/colour appointment. However if you insist on coming in for a consultation before your appointment date, that can be arranged with our receptionist. All colour services begin with a thorough consultation at the start of your appointment.

All extension services require a consultation prior to booking your appointment. The stylist will assess your hair and advise the best method for your hair texture.You will be given a quote, available times to book your appointment and all the information needed to maintain your hair extensions during the consultation.
An extension appointment can take anywhere between 3-4 depending on the method of extensions requested.
If you are interested in colouring your extensions, please let your stylist know during the consultation and she will provide insight on what is possible along with price point.
If you are looking to make a dramatic change to the colour of your extensions (ex.going lighter), we suggest you purchase blonde extensions and your stylist will tone to the colour requested. Making a subtle change to the colour of your extensions (ex. Adding red/caramel to dark brown/black extensions) will not require blonde extensions.
At Salon West by IDNTY we use single donor hair, raw South East Asian (Vietnamese, Cambodian, Berma).
Tape-Ins are attached by two tape panels and do not require heat or sowing. Based on hair texture maintenance varies by client. Typically tape-ins require maintenance every 3-4 weeks.
Wefted Microlinks is an extension method where the hair is attached with silicone microbeads or microtubes. Based on hair texture maintenance varies by client. Typically wefted microlinks require maintenance every 3-4 weeks.
Extensions are not damaging with the proper installation and placement. It is important that you follow your stylist’s after care instructions and purchase the correct products to use at home. It is common that most people wanting extensions already have pre-existing hair damage/thinness. If your hair is extremely damaged/too thin your stylist will advise against it and provide alternatives.
